I invite you all to consider what deviantART has taught you, and what you really believe in. So what do page views mean then? Nothing…. It has taught me skills I never learned, and most importantly it has given me friendships that I want to last for the rest of my lifetime! Time on dA has allowed me to learn lessons in "real life" that I would not have learned. Some people will even call me crazy for spending so long on dA, but I disagree. "Page views can be gained through faving non stop for days, or EARNT from hard work of ARTISTRY."ĭuring my time on dA I have learned so much. Over time I realized that… it's really not about popularity, or about the number of favorites, it's what you take out of it. One that is here to become friends with others. A deviant with 10,000, 100,000 or even 1,000,000 page views are all the same! That's not what matters on dA (which has between 14.5-16 million deviants depending on exactly what you count!) It really brought to light something most people don't realize. They don't reflect the deviant or their work, so it would be pointless." "Is 100,000 views too seen? Doesn't this community consist of millions?" Who they are as a person and an artist should.Īs of January 5, 2011, I will no longer be paying attention to my own page views, and in addition I have vowed not to follow deviants based on page views, but instead based on ability and personality.īut I thought I would take this as a chance to write a little something about page views as well.Įarlier in the day, I spoke to PurpelBlur, and he told me: Not only was my page view count once destroyed by a bot, but I have come to realize page views should not represent the face of a deviant. "Page Views - You may notice that I don't view page views. For many they represent who they follow, who they talk with, and even who they are willing to be friends with.Īs of January 5, 2011, I removed viewing page views from my page and on others. Page views are a huge talk on deviantART.
